QuestionI am 38, this is my first pregnancy and the first day of my LMP was April 4, 2004.
I am wondering if loud noise can stress the developing baby. Prior to knowing I was pregnant, I purchased tickets to the Cdn Grand Prix in Montreal and the Toronto Molson Indy as well as to a rock concert. Could the extremely loud noise from the race engines or the concert harm the baby and should I avoid these events?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
AnswerStudies have shown that developing fetuses can react to loud music and noises, and different types of music can cause colic in babies (already born). HOwever, there is no evidence of any danger to fetuses from loud noises or rock concerts. There is, however, danger to your own eardrums and hearing if you are exposed to sustained loud music during pregnancy.
