AnswerMetronidazole (Flagyl) is safe for use during pregnancy. You can also use metronidazole gel (Metrogel) or Cleocin vaginal suppositories during pregnancy for bacterial vaginosis. We have used both of these medications for years and they are the only approved treatment for BV during pregnancy (by the CDC).
