Chromagen-Forte & Skin Changes During Pregnancy: What You Need to Know

i am 23 years old. 9 months pregnant with my first child.  i have always been anemic and it has gotten more severe with my pregnancy.  my doctor has me taking 2 chromagen-forte (iron pills) a day.  i am african american and they have darkened the skin on my neck and the back of my thighs. i am wondering will they affect my unborn childs skin the same way? i also would like to know what a mucus plug is?

The chromagen-forte will not affect your baby at all. Don't worry. The mucus plug ("bloody show") is a pinkish stain or light bleeding that occurs when the cervix starts to efface or dilate, a few days before you go into labor. It lets you know that you will go into labor within a few days or weeks. It has no other significance.
