Delayed Period: Possible Pregnancy or Other Causes? - Expert Advice

Question
Hi,

I am a 24 years old virgin and have always been precise in my periods (28 days). I spent a month with my boyfriend in another state, went back home and it has now been 32 days since my last period. We didn't have any sexual intercourse and my fiancee had no ejaculation. My last period was on Dec 20, so I should have been fertile at worst from Jan 2 - Jan 6. I may have had some pre-ejaculation semen on my hands, but did not touch my intimate parts before falling asleep. However, I did not wash my hands before sleeping. We spent some time one above the other, but there were at least 2 layers of thin clothes between each other. While pregnancy is certainly improbable, I am still anxious. Can spermatozoids diffuse efficiently through slightly wet clothes ? What is their life time on reasonably dry hands ? What are standard pregnancy symptoms, 2 weeks after conception ?
Thanks for support and help !

Answer
Remember that there are around 300,000 sperm at the tip of the penis prior to ejaculation. If any of these sperm get into the vagina, and it is at your fertile period of the month, they can swim into the vagina and you can become pregnant. If any semen gets on your vulva, vagina, or thigh and it  is moist at the time, the sperm can swim into the vagina. It is unlikely that the sperm will seep thorugh your dry clothes and get into your vagina. Sperm can live for 12-24 hours in your body.  Outside the body, they are very fragile and do not remain viable for more than a few minutes. Sperm die very rapidly once they are on your hands or lothes or on a tab le or toilet seat. Don't worry. If you do not get your period  within the next week, take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure.
