Postpartum Ovulation & Cycle Recovery After Loss: What to Expect
QuestionI put to bed my first baby on may 17th through normal delivery but lost her eight days later.Up till then i breast fed her.Since then i have not seen my period. I have had menstral like pains about four different times in the last two weeks but the period did not come.I resumed sex with my husband on May 30th (at which time i was still bleeding scantily) as i was told that i could easily conceive then. Is that true? I had a blood pregnancy test on june 28th cos i was really feeling dizzy & thot i could be pregnant but it was negative. Could the test had been wrong or was it too early to have gone for a test? why the menstral like pains which i still felt yesterday. should i have seen my period by now? I have not gone for post natal check up. What is the importance of it? what checks do they do?
AnswerWhen was your last peeriod since the baby was born? What was the date of the delivery. Often, when you are breast feeding, you may not get your period for up to a year (even if the baby succombed). If you are having irregular bleeding, I would suggest that you consult your obstetrician.
