Can You Have a Baby After a Hysterectomy? Understanding Your Options

Question
im 28yo i had a partial hysterectomy 6 months ago. i think i made the wrong choice because now i feel that i want a nother baby. how can i make that possible? can i use a sergeant mother?

Answer
Hi Ketty :)

Unfortuently, You cannot have another baby. Most partcial hystorectomies involve removing the uterus, and leaving the ovaries. The only time ovaries are removed, is if there is a serious condition with them, such as cancer. I think its most probable that you have had your uterus removed, perhaps your tubes as well. Ovaries are almost always left, to continue hormonal function.

So, basically the only way(s) you would be able to have another baby, is by saragocy, or adoption. There are many saroget mothers out there, and it is quite costly, as well as adoption.

Hope this is of some help.
