Pregnancy Risk After Unprotected Anal Sex: What You Need to Know

Question
Me and my girlfriend had unprotected anal sex on the 20th of March. I didnot ejaculate and we had penetration .The whole thing lasted for about a minute or so . Also i am quite certain that i didnot touch her vaginal area. I am worried if its possible that some of the preejaculation fluid could get to the opening of the vagina and cause pregnancy.
Her periods had ended on the 12th of March. Se again had her periods on the 7th of April and says she had her regular heavy periods that cotinued for four days.I was worried out of my wits all the while .But now can i stop worrying ? Is it possible to have a heavy period and still be pregnant.Plz help.

Answer
Dear Anil,

If the sexual penetration was anal only and she has had a regular menstrual period since the encounter, I'd say you can stop worrying.

It is true that pre-ejaculate can contain a high concentration of sperm cells, however you would have only put yourselves at risk for pregnancy if you had penetrated her vaginally.

The stress of worrying is awful, I know. The two of you may want to start thinking about a birth control method so that you don't have to go through all these days of stress again. Just a thought to ponder...

Hope that helps you and answers your question. I wish you both well.
