Dear Myrna,

A pregnancy which occurs after a tubal ligation would not be any more susceptible to birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities than any other pregnancy. There would be a somewhat higher risk of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, but an ectopic would have to be terminated anyway as it is not a viable pregnancy.
