QuestionQUESTION: I am pleased to know about your name and info
pls guide if a female is having indication of anti D immunoglobulin and after delivery she is having recurrent bleeding for many days what are guidelines for anti D Rhogam
regards
ANSWER: Dear Zaheer
The most important is to have her doses given during pregnancy around 32 weeks and after delivery within 72 hoursr after delivery. Sometimes the postpartum dose is only given and usually it is enough, with no need to the dose in pregnancy, unless severs bleeding occurs during pregnancy.
If you already had your post partum dose given and you had recurrent bleeding since then, there is nothing to worry about.

mother was not given ANTI D on 32 week and she did not recieve any anti partum dose.
now after delivey she is having recurrent bleeding now what to do?
can we give Anti D 1 dose as due to bleeding it is enough or more dose is required kindly give your opinion

AnswerDear Zaheer
thank you for providine me with the information I requested. It seems that your wife have 2 problems. First is the recurrent bleeding after delivery and this, has nothing to do with Rh. An ultrasound scan, preferably vaginal is needed to assess whether there is any remnants of conception inside her uterus preventing its full contraction. The second problem is the Rh. If she had proper antenatal care, she would have been given the anti D in time. the 32 weeks dose is not essential unless she had bleeding during pregnancy. Otherwise, it should be given within 72 hours of delivery; otherwise, it provides no protection in future pregnancies.
I hope that these info are helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact me again if u need any clarification.
