Predicting Your Baby's Delivery: What to Expect in Subsequent Pregnancies
QuestionThis is my 6th pregnancy, I had the last 3 early, 2 induced and the last one came on his own 8 days early. Is there a good chance this baby will be early too considering the number of pregnancy he is?
AnswerDear Lanette,
As a general rule, each pregnancy tends to LABOR less time with each subsequent time. As far as when you will actually deliver, unless there is an issue with the competence of your cervix, there is just no way to tell. The number of pregnancies cannot be an adequate predictor. I have seen 4th and 5th pregnancies deliver at term and not go any earlier than the previous ones. However... they do tend to come QUICK once they decide it's time! :-)
I hope that helps you and answers your question. I wish you well.
