Post-Coital STI Risk: Unprotected Sex During Period & PrEP Concerns

Question
I had unprotected sex with an older man (He's 37, I'm 19) on the last day of my period (the 5th day of my flow). He pulled out before cumming each time (6 ejaculations total) and went to the bathroom three times over the course of our intercourse, so not EVERY time after he ejaculated. He came in my ass once, and I cleaned thoroughly to prevent any from seaping close to my vaginal opening. But I'm still freaked out I guess. I've always used a condom before. What are the odds that I could be pregnant?

Answer
Dear Katherine,

Cycle day 5 would not be considered a fertile day of your cycle. If you have regular 28 day cycles, you would be expected to ovulate on/around CD 14-15. Now, I won't say that it would be absolutely impossible because technically anytime you have unprotected sex you put yourself at risk to conceive a pregnancy. BUT your chances of conceiving with this particular incident on CD 5, and approximately 9-10 days before expected ovulation, should be quite low.

I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
