Trying to Conceive After Depo Shot: Symptoms & Timing

so not sure if you can help me but here i go any ways. i gave birth to a girl 4 years ago and got onto the depo shot right after words. i just recently got off the shot 4 months ago April 26th. we are trying to conceive, i started bleeding on April 26th but i was a one day thing. my partner and had sex 3 days before that day. i have been feeling a little sick to my stomach every once in a while and kind of sleepy, and if i push on my stomach it kind of is sore. i took a test the day after bleeding it said it was negative. i guess my question is now that i bled that one day is it likely that we can get pregnant now or not? or can i be pregnant now? i want to take another test but tired of being let down. lol. if you can help that would be great thanks.   shawna

Thanks for your question. It is really hard to say whether your are pregnant  or not. Most often, a delay in ovulation occurs after u stop the depot which may last for few months and a delayed ovulation, subsequently, affects the usual pattern of your menstruation.

On the other hand, you should not worry and it is quite normal if your are having regular relation with a healthy partner with satisfactory semen quality partner, twicwe weekly as an average, to get a pregnant within the first year after stoping the shot. This applies if you are below 35. However, if above 35, you may need to seek consultation and some hormonal and ultrasound testing to make sure ur ovulating if pregnancy does not occur within 6 months of stoping the shot.
