Understanding Your Baby's Station: What Does -2 Mean?
QuestionI went to the doctor the other day for my check up and they said that I was at -2 station. What does that mean?
AnswerHi Kari,
We measure how far down into your pelvis the baby is by station. We measure this by feeling for your ishial spine in your vaginal vault. The station goes from a -5 through a zero station, and then we start with plus' from +1 til the baby is crowning and coming out at +5. Being -2 is pretty normal right now. It means he can feel the head, and it's starting to engage into the pelvis. It doesn't mean you will go into labor anytime soon though. Good luck! I hope this helps.
