Question
hie
i have severe external hemorrhoids which have developed post pregnancy( they protrude out after stool & i have to manually push them in). i cant undergo surgery as i am breastfeeding my baby. since i have gained a lot of weight post pregnancy is it alright for me to do cardio & weight training?
thanks
anu

Answer
Cardio training, especially low impact, should be totally safe. For weight training, avoid very heavy weights and moves that strain your pelvic floor muscles, such as deep squats.
Start doing lots of Kegel exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. You should get strong enough that you can stop a full stream of urine, without any leakage. After each bowel movement and have pushed your hemorrhoids back in, perform several sets of Kegels.
