Unexplained Weight Gain: Causes & Solutions - Expert Advice

Question
I have been steadily gaining weight over the past few months even though i have been eating better and exercising at least an hour a day 4-5 days a week. I started out at 155 a few months ago which is already way over what i should way and now i'm at 175. I'm so confused as to why i'm putting on weight so quickly. I have switched birth control pills three times in a few months and it seems i have put on weight with each new brand. Is this the cause or could it be something else? The last time i had my thyroid checked was two years ago and it was fine. I have been counting calories and watching what i eat and i always make sure to have breakfast.aside from weight gain i am always tired and get dizzy very easy even while sitting. i also feel very bloated and my stomach seems to have alot more weight. i am only 29 years old so i feel like i should feel better and not have such a hard time losing weight. i have been trying for months and like i said i have just added so much weight instead of losing. anyway any advice will be great. thanks so much shara

Answer
Well, the first thing I would think of is that you have developed thyroid problems.  If a repeat thyroid test is normal, then you need to do a calorie count... you may be getting too many calories without realizing it... some foods, especially fast foods are way packed with calories and fat...

Thyroid problems are fairly common and may develop at any age so have that rechecked.....
