Twin Pregnancy & Placental Bleeding: Understanding Bed Rest Risks

Question
I have had two prior pregnancy both with preterm labor issues and am now pregnant for the third time at age 25 with twins this time. I was told after a hospital visit for severe cramps that babies are great but I have a slight placental bleed.....I don't know if this is something I should be concerned about I am trying to take things easy but with a one year old and a three year old at home its hard...I was wondernig how high are my chances of being put on bedrest and if its likely how soon should I be expecting it so I can make arrangments for my kids.

Answer
Dear Kristy

With your history of 2 preterm births and a current twin pregnancy, things such as avoidance of sexual intercourse or foreplay, household activities, exercises and similar activities is a must. Bed rest is also mandatory and usually advised after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Good Luck
