QuestionMy husband and I have been using NFP effectively for a year. I used to have a short luteal phase and I started taking Optivite, a multi vitamin that has B6 and Magnesium.
Well, we decided this month we wanted to try to conceive a baby. So, I replaced Optivite with prenatal vitamins.
We've been excited to "try" but it's Day 13 in my cycle and my temp hasn't dropped, I have no cervical mucus. I'm not concerned but I'm wondering what's happened? I normally start Phase II at around day 9-10.
Could it be the prenatal vitamins???
AnswerI'm not thinking that switching vitamins would be a factor. I think you will find that you are experiencing a normal variation in your cycle. Have your luteal phases gotten longer on the Optivite? That would be a good thing, of course. If your leuteal phases have lengthened and you want to stay on the pre-natals, that is recommended for the folic acid that prevents some birth defects. Or just keep taking the optivite and add some folic acid. You know you may not get pregnant the first month you try? Be patient! You are doing all the right things, Relax and keep doing those right things.
