Answer
Hi Lavinia
I'm so sorry I've not answered sooner, I've just moved home. I'm not sure how you are getting on, I assume your surgery was booked in for today but will answer your question.
hCG levels should double aprox every two days until around 8wks gestation. Dropping levels usually indicate a failing pregnancy, especially so fast.
You may find you'll still experience some symptoms as hCG takes aprox 2wks to disappear from your system. You don't say what unit was used when your hCG was measured so I can't comment on whether you are carrying twins, but I would expect that your levels would drop more slowly & only by a little if you were.

I hope this finds you well & please don't hesitate to come back if you have any more questions.

Kindest Regards
Sarah
