Midwife Care: When is it Needed? UK vs. India
QuestionI'm a 25 year old housewife and a 2months 3weeks pregnant.I've consulted a doctor in the starting of my pregnancy (ie. at 1month 2weeks). I've not taken any tests like b.p or scan. She asked us to arrange a midwife for further doughts and advices if I'm delivering in U.K. But we are in an opinion of delivering in India. In this case is it necessary to appoint a midwife at this time? Expecting your answer soon.
AnswerDear Achu,
I would recommend being under the care of a midwife by the time you are 12 weeks pregnant, even if you are planning to move to India and give birth there.
This way you can give your records to the midwife you hire in India so she will know about your health and your pregnancy from the beginning, and often, this is valuable information that she needs to know.
Good luck,
Sheva
