Understanding and Managing Irregular Hormone Levels for Fertility

Question
Hello,
I have been dealing with irregular hormone levels for about 2 years now and it's getting more frustrating as we are TTC our first child ( for 3 months).
I recently requested more bloodwork to be done and went in for a follow-up on the results.
The Doctor isn't very much help and I am in the middle of waiting to see a new Doctor but it could be sometime before I can get in so I'm searching the internet for answers.
I'm desperate.

The doctor today wouldn't tell me anything about my current levels.
Could you please tell me if they are out of the normal range, as well, how much.
Note: I'm 24/female diagnosed with PCOS a year ago (even though they dont think I have any cysts, just the symptoms and higher testosterone).

All the doctor told me was this test was taken during my Luteal phase... I have irregular cycles so I wasn't sure when or if I even ovulated when I was tested.

Estradoil - 638 pmol/L
FSH - <1 IU/L
LH - <0.1 IU/L

Thank you very much for your time.

Kristie

Answer
Hi Kristie, I'd be glad to try and answer your question.  Your doctor was right in one thing, your FSH and LH levels would indicate that your were in the luteal phase of your cycle, which is the last 10-14 days of your cycle.  But your estradiol level is quite high.  Anything over 400 is abnormal.  High estradiol levels can have an impact on your infertility. Elevated levels of estradiol tend to indicate a problem with ovarian reserve. In high amounts, estradiol can suppress the amount of FSH in your system.  In many cases, a high estradiol level indicates a complication with FSH and ovarian reserve. This can lead to lower pregnancy rates and poor ovulation.  If you're not getting satisfaction from the doctor, you need to see another doctor as soon as possible!  Make him or her really listen.  With the right doctor's help, you can conceive and have a healthy baby.  Take care and good luck!
