PCOS & Fertility Treatment: Optimizing Intercourse Timing for Conception

Question
First I'd like to thank you for taking time to answer my question. I have PCOS , my husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year and a half. I got prescribed clomid 50mg , Estradiol 3msgs , Prochieve 8% , and Metformin 500 today. I start my period next week (hopefully) My question is should I only have intercourse during the intercourse time on the chart or should I start having intercourse after I get off my period and until i take the pregnancy test at the end of the month?

Again, thanks for your time .
Paula.

Answer
Hello,

It's optimal to have intercourse every other day, the four days leading up to ovulation and the two days after, but it certainly won't hurt to try prior to that, just in case you ovulate earlier than expected.  Chances are you'll be monitored with ultrasound, so you'll know when you're ovulating. Every other day is usually recommended so that the sperm count is ideal.  Good luck.
