Questionwhat is the role of estradiol valerate in endometrium priming and thick ness? how does it acts?
AnswerHello,
The endometrial lining (uterine lining) requires estrogen in order to grow in preparation for implantation. It then needs progesterone in order to convert to the stage required for implantation. Estrogen is usually produced by the growing ovarian follicle that is preparing to ovulate to give up an egg. As the follicle grows, the estrogen level increases. If an inadequate endometiral lining is present at or around ovulation, we will usually use a supplemental estrogen such as estradiol in either injectable, gel, cream, patch or vaginal suppository form to get estrogen directly to the lining to help it thicken and develop. We like to see a minimal endometrial lining of 9 mm before ovulation.
