QuestionMy husband has recently being diagnosed with an Epididymal Cyst. The Doctor he attended told him that he has nothing to worry about but is sending him to a Urologist to have a scan done just to be double sure.
Can I ask you if this kind of a cyst has any bearing on male fertility? I have done alot of research on the Internet about these type of cysts and most websites say they have no bearing on fertility but the odd one here and there say it could have a bearing so the info is a little confusing and contradictory. Can you offer any advice?
Answer
Dr. Ramirez
Hello Katie from Ireland,
I am presuming that this epididymal cyst is located on the testicle. They can be found at any part of the body. These are benign cysts. It should not have any impact on your husband's fertility potential.
