Paternity Test: Calculating Due Date & Confirming Fatherhood

Question
I have a question I was hoping you could help with. Earlier this year I was away for two months I returned on Feb.23, on this day my girlfriend and I had sex and she is now pregnant. She is due to give birth on Nov.4th this was verified by an early ultrasound. Also, her LMP was on Jan. 30th. Do these dates add up from the time we had sex? I recently found out she was seeing another guy and want to make sure this one is mine. Also, if she ovulated late how would the due date? or would it? Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hello Mark from the U.S.,

The best way to check for paternity is through genetic testing on the infant.  That is the only absolute way to know.

However, based on her LMP date of Jan 30, her fertile dates would be approximately 13-15 February.  Certainly, if she ovulated one week late, your timing would be more plausible.  If conception occurred on 2/23 then the due date would be approximately 16 November.  An ultrasound done between 7-9 weeks gestational age is the most accurate in dating a pregnancy (+/- 3 days).
