Understanding Recurrent Miscarriage: Causes, Support & Next Steps

Question
Well first off I had a prior pregnancy with live birth, Landon is 14 months and is completely healthy. However, I did have bleeding when I was pregnant with him, he stopped growing around 34 weeks and i was induced four weeks later as they knew he would do better outside. After i delivered they found out why, his cord was knotted in double nots right at the base of his cord. He went home with us 3 days later. My doctor sayed he shouldnt have made it.

We then started to try again, I feel pregnant in september and confimed it with the doctor in october. I had a lot if issues going on as my dad commited suicide. I lost the baby the day after his funeral at 4 weeks. So im assuming it was chemical. Im not stressed out anymore.

Than i got pregnant about 4 weeks ago again and started miscarry today, how ever the dr did not confirm, i knew i was pregnant as I just felt pregnant, i had morning sickness and tender/swollen breast, I took a pregnant test it was a faint positive. I was about 3 weeks I believe, I got pregnat right after my last miscarriage.

Im 21 years old and I am relatively healthy I have copd but its under control, any ideas on why I cant stay pregnant this time? Any tips?

Answer
Hello Rossy from the U.S.,

One thing to keep in mind is that most miscarriages occur because there is something wrong with that particular pregnancy, and not for something that is inherently wrong with you.  The fact that you have a previous successful pregnancy is evidence of that.  In most cases, miscarriages occur because the embryo is abnormal, genetically, and it is nature's way of stopping an abnormal baby from developing.  I don't think you should worry at this time.  Just keep trying.  Statistically 85% of woman that have recurrent miscarriages will be successful.
