High TSH (5.36): Symptoms, Causes & Finding an Endocrinologist in Jeddah

My name is Asma i am 25 years old have a kid of 1 year for the last 6 months i am having heavy bleeding in my periods my gynaecologist asked me to check my TSH upon checking it was 5.36.Have severe hair fall,fatigue,feeling of cold,rough skin.I am living in Jeddah saudi arabia searching for an endocrinologist.Have moved from pakistan to ksa.wat to do please reply is it on the alarming side??????

Hello Asma Adeel from Saudi Arabia,

I think you already have the answer for this.  You need to go see an Endocrinologist so that your thyroid can be thoroughly evaluated.  However, the level is not alarming, so you don't need to worry too much.  In some labs, this level would be within normal limits.  From a fertility point of view, we prefer the level to be 3.0 or less.  This is not the reason for your heavy menstrual bleeding.  That needs to be evaluated as well.
