Understanding Viral Infections: Cures and 'Super Antibiotics'

I've heard of some "super antibiotics," which claim to be antiviral treatments as well.  I was under the impression that viruses are, as of yet, basically incurable.  Are there any cures for viruses?  What are these new superdrugs?

There are always superdrugs being promoted by the drug companies but there are none available except the old tetracycline that works for both viruses and germs. There are several antivirals that cure viruses such as acyclovir and valtex and famvir for herpes class viruses. I would expect there are more coming out but not yet releases. You can also search the www.cdc.gov and www.fda.gov webs but there have been not releases to date. OK?
