Cold Remedies & High Blood Pressure: What You Need to Know

I need to know some cold medicines for people with high blood pressure.  Can you help me.

Dear Kimberly,  If this is just the basic cold, then as my doctor tells me, REST, drinks lots of fluids, take Vitamin-C and let the cold ride its course....  There are medications out there that are ADVERTIZED they are SAFE for people to take who have high blood pressure, but my doctor will not let me take them....  If I have a cold WITH cough, then she prescribes me a presciption cough medicine (never anything over the counter)... You need to talk to your doctor as low high blood pressure, medium high blood pressure and HIGH high blood pressure should all be considered when even take the over the counter meds that suppose to be SAFE for people with high blood pressure....

Now to answer you question, I only know of one cold medicine that is suppose to be for people with high blood pressure and the name of it is Coricidin HBP Cold and Flu.....  Go to your pharmicist and ask him/her where to find it and maybe others so you have a choice....  Remember, to call your doctor FIRST........
