After 40 Years Right-Handed, I Suddenly Began Writing Left-Handed: A Personal Story

Question
Dear |Glen, I'm more baffled than worried by the following. I've recentle started to favour my left hand-even for writing- after 40 odd years of being mainly right handed.when I was 15 I hurt my right hand during the exam season and taught myself to write with the left hand or miss the exams.
Lots of my family members are left handers so were on the look-out for this in their offspring so that schools etc did not try to force them to use their right hand.
I would add that I have never had any head injury since I was 8 years old and that at present I have no problems with my right hand or any recent head/brain issues,
Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Victoria.

Answer
Without a brain injury, I would suspect you are actually ambidexterous. As such you will experience phases in your life where one then the other hand appear to be more comfortable. Not to worry, in a few months or years you may tend to be more right handed again. Also there are no tests to evaluate this. OK?
