External Hemorrhoids: Symptoms, Causes & Relief Tips
QuestionHi charles:: I am prone to external hemmoroids, i am trying to correct the diet with more fiber yet have a driving job so that is also a culprit. A few years ago i had a throbosed hemmorid incised. My problem now is noticing bright red streaks now and then on passing a bowel movement, not much but noticable, oddly if i use vaseline prior to a bowel movement i do not notice it. Do you have any tips for external hemmorids you could offer? Also i read that you should not take fiber supplements with your other medication or vitamins, which kind of messes me up since if i dont take something then, i usually forget to take it. Thanks
Marc
AnswerHi Marc,
You are doing just about everything you can. If you use fiber, take medicines 2 hours after or an hour before using fiber. Keep well hydrated and try to keep your stool soft (not hard or too runny). It sounds like you probably have internal hemorrhoids as well. The treatment is about the same.
