Persistent Coldness and Chills: Possible Causes & What To Do

Question
Over the last several months I am always cold and chills are also associated with this.  My hands are like ice - I feel like I'm coming down with something.  I've had my thyroid checked (through blood test) and was told it's fine.  My doctor said I could be fighting a virus.  I can't take it anymore - any suggestions on what I should do?  It comes and goes.  I didn't have it for a week then about two days ago I had a bad stomache ache along with the coldness and chills!

Thank you.

Answer
Donna,

Wow... a lot of thing could be going on.  I would certainly have the Thyroid functions read by someone adept at reading the test results for subclinical or euthyroid hypothyroidism (see my article on thyroid on my blog).  Also would check for anemia (H&H on a CBC)and a general physical exam is called for.  To bolster your immune system I recommend openly to my patients to take Vitamin C 2grams and up per day and Immune Support (www.vitasanus.com)

These are broad general complaints you have and are not easily diagnosed in this forum (even if allowed).
