QuestionDear Dr.
I get extreme gas but don't "pass" it when I drink carbonated beverages. I feel the gas in my chest and it hurts.
I tried to do internet research as to what will help with gas when you drink carbonated beverages and nothing came up. The only thing I found is that some gas relievers only work on certain types of gas.
Do you have anything that would help me? I love my soft drinks as much as an alcoholic loves beer. PS I am a tea totaler and don't drink one drop!
Thank you.
AnswerNothing out there really helps because sodas are not natural for our bodies and have to be passed in several ways, require great activity in the liver, lungs, and kidneys and even are blamed for edema and kidney failure being higher in western cultures.
You may want to analyze your 24 hour intake to determine what makes you crave sodas, it is more than an acquired taste. Sodas would normally be consumed to attempt to balance a deficiency or excess in the diet, so ultimately are not good for ones health.
