QuestionWhen I drink a lot of fluids I start sweating whether it is hot or not. I do not know why. Can you please tell me why? Thank you. Believe me, I am not joking! Is there a problem, I need to know about. People did not believe me. So I showed them when I was not sweating, I started drinking water or other fluids, not liquor, and I started to sweat, they thought it was strange to. The sweat would go away in time, but would come back when drinking fluids again! So please let me know what you think it is, if you can. Thank you. Oh I live in Houston, Texas and it does get hot here. I am warm now, I go and drink some cold strawberry ,milk and I start perspiring again! So what do you think it is? Thank you for your response!
AnswerBrandon,
Actually everyone sweats more after they consume fluids, some more than others and it sounds like you do it more.
Before we take in fluids our kidneys keep our body in perfect fluid balance. When we consume fluids with calories, they raise the metabolic rate( body temp) and we sweat. If you are in a hot humid climate like Houston, Florida, New Orleans, the sweating starts but does not evaporate because of the environmental humidity so you notice the sweating, whereas in Las Vegas where it is dry the sweat evaporates to reduce the body temperature back to what it was before the increase metabolism. The same is true with water but there it does not raise the metabolism(temp) so the sweating is less. The trick in your climate is to consume fluids that do not raise the metabolic rate(temp) of the body.
