QuestionHello,
This is a somewhat embarrassing question. I am 42 year old female, inactive (i am working on changing that) I am also probably 35-40 pounds over weight. I really do eat relatively well though; usually I eat either all bran cereal( which I just love!) oatmeal with fruit or a slice of whole wheat with cheese and tomatoe for breakfast, lunch is usually soup or a salad, sometimes nothing, dinner chicken or fish we don't usually eat red meat, a starch and vegtable, probably too large of portions though. Anyway I have this problem: when I eat I usually feel VERY full VERY quickly, I belch ALLOT and as far as passing gas it is VERY often and sometimes with little or no warning like if I bend over, quite loud and smelly too. I do have what I would consider slightly sluggish bowels, I usually eliminate probably once a day and a decent amount, but always have a feeling of still being "full"
I take a multivamine everyday as well as fish oil, which I have had to take at night because of the horrible belching up of fish taste. I have also been taking 3mill. acidophollus everyday for about 2 months now with little help. I have also been wondering if I need to cut out the wheat, I eat it in my cereal, bread and pasta. This has been going on for at least a year and I just can't take it anymore it's actually interfering with my time at school and work.
Any suggestions or advice will be greatly welcome
Kate
AnswerHi Kate,
Actually, yes, I do have a few suggestions. I would have yourself checked for Diabetes, Thyroid disease, Celiac disease, Gall Bladder disease and Helicobater Pylori. I know that this sounds like a lot, but your symptoms may be indicative of more than just "an embarrassment". Of course you could just try to eliminate grains and see what happens. I would also eliminate Acidophilus for the time being and be sure that these aren't the bad players.
