QuestionHello Dr, I am a 37 yr old white female 5'7" and 130 lbs. I've been working out and running in the last year or so. I've never had smelly sweat before, but it seems lately it is rather smelly. Not malodorous or rotten, but smelly stinky like a guy. I also get heavily agitated when I don't eat and my family doctor said I was lacking in some vitamins like B12. So I take multivitamins and B12 tabs, fish oil etc daily. Can these cause sweat to be smelly or is that normal? Thank you.
AnswerI don't see vitamin deficiencies as causing this.
Usually, this means you are colonized with certain bacteria that produce the odors.... (we are all colonized with skin bacteria but different kinds.....
A good antibacterial soap and deoderant.... sorry I don't have an easy fix for you....
Have you rotated/changed your running shoes?
