Sudden Facial Warmth & Flushing: Causes & Relief

Question
I am a 31 year old female with no known health issues.  My problem is that the last few months I will get these flashes where my face will feel really hot just out of the blue - so warm that it makes my eyes feel warm and they will get a little watery.  It feels like I have a really high fever and my face will be hot to the touch but the thermometer typically shows no fever.  These flashes will come all of a sudden (only in my face - the rest of my body feels normal), last for awhile (maybe an hour or less), and then go away.  I never know when they are going to hit, it's just sporadic.  Any ideas?  Thank you for your input.

Answer
Some medicines can cause this but I assume you aren't on any since you have no health issues... steroids/prednisone, antibiotics, etc.

If this were an infection... then it should have resolved.  I would consider testing you for thyroid disorders, anemia, urinary tract infection.... these could potentially cause those symptoms.
