Gallbladder Removal and Post-Surgery Fatigue: Understanding the Connection
QuestionFor seven months I've had fatigue and lost about 80 lbs after having my lapband removed b/c I was throwing up & much of it was bile.I cannot even be around the smell of food and since removal I stopped throwing up and can force myself to eat. However the weight loss continued alarmingly fast. After severe pain for months finally last week I convinced them with enough er visits to do an ultra sound showing I had many gallstones and now my gallbladder has been removed.I was in a lot of pain but they would not do an emergency removal even as I felt weaker and weaker each day.I cannot stay awake for more than an hour and I feel so weak that I cannot even imagine anything let alone dream of anything other than me sleeping within the dreams and not being able to open my eyes.I had complained about severe pain where my heart was that was stabbing and growling. The pain was severe but since I don't eat anything but broth it's kept down.I had even visited a heart doctor telling him of the pain and that it would afterward feel numb and tingles. If this might be my pancreas how do I get any help that wont take another 7 mths I don't feel like I can wait anymore and even breathing takes too much energy.I need to know what to say and how to say it b/c I am weaker than I've ever been in my life and no one seems to think time is as valuable as I do when it's me that's sick. The pain and numbness on my left side worries me just as much as the fact that I have to go back to sleep and I've only been up a combined five hours all day.Sorry about my question-I'm really too tired to think right now so I'm sure this question is a mess.
AnswerHi,
you need to consult a gastroenterologist in a medical school. They have a much much better understanding as compared to non medical school doctors. I am sure you will be bask on a healthy life. the problem is somewhere in your GI tract. Get it identified. Then treatment is easy.
