Birth Control Pills & Pregnancy: Effectiveness & Risk of Conception

Question
Hello,

I was on Birth control pills and had a sexual act, yet, i had my period and took a blood test 6 weeks after the act which was negative!
my 1st question is how effective are birth control pills?
and can a woman conceive from dry humping? Can sperms travel through clothes to the vagina and uterus? thanks

Answer
Hi Mona,

Thanks for your question. If you had a negative blood test, you should be ok. I really can't tell you the statistics about birth control pills. However, they are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases. No birth control method can be 100%. So I wouldn't advise you to count on the birth control pill to be safe. I would advise any woman not to have sex until marriage because of all the problems that can occur. No, you shouldn't be able to get pregnant from dry humping. However, I don't advise this because it can lead to more serious sexual activity. It is best to have dates that are active and go out and not stay in someone's place. Do other activities with friends and then you won't be tempted to be sexually active. Let me know what you think. Hope to hear from you soon.
