Second Pregnancy After C-Section: VBAC Concerns & Body's Response

Question
My husband and I are planning on getting pregnant in a few months. We have a 14 month old daughter now. With her we found out she was breach a couple days after my due date so I had a scheduled csection. I never have labor pains or braxton hicks. My question is will my body know that i've already carried one child or will it think its my first pregnancy. I had the bikini csection so I dont think I will have any problems having a VBAC?? I guess im just really nervous...

Answer
Your body will definitely know what to do. =)  Our bodies were built for birth. Even though you had a c-section, you still gave birth. You still carried the child. Since you had a scheduled c-section, that is probably why you never had labor pains as your body didn't have the chance to go into labor. However, you shouldn't worry because your body knows what to do. =) Your uterus has already grown, already supported a child. I'm not sure what you mean by your body remembering you had a child- you uterus definitely knows it has supported a child before! =)

I commend you on choosing to have a VBAC. With a bikini cut section, you are much less likely to have any sort of complications. =)

Please let me know if I can help you further or with anything else.

Best wishes,
Helen =)
