C-Section at 37 Weeks: Lung Development & Risks

Well this is my third child I am at 34 weeks and 6 days today my doctor wants me to come back in 2weeks for a Amniocentesis to see if the lungs are developed and if so she will due a c-section that day. What's the likelihood that her lungs will be developed 36 weeks and 6 days?

Answer
It honestly all depends on the child. Some babies develop faster than others and the lungs are one of the last things to fully develop. Most babies' lungs develop quickly around the 35th week. However, as I said, it all depends on the individual child.
