QuestionHi Suzette,
Just to let you know, I'm 40. I understand (and have heard...believe me... )that it's harder to get pregnant at this time in life.
My ahpt (20 miu) showed a faint line two days ago, and yesterday a midstream First Response test window showed a darker line (maybe half the intensity of the control line.) I know that hcg doubles each day, so that could account for the color increase.
Here's the catch. My period is expected any time today or tomorrow (give or take an additional day or two as a buffer, of course).
In the past few days, I've felt rumblings in my middle (a familiar feeling--I have two kids already).
But today, things are a little different. I don't feel 'cramps'... but I have slightly spotted--light brown.
Is this common, or does this more likely mean the onset of a (very) early miscarriage?
Maybe since my pregnancy test was the sensitive kind at 20miu's, maybe a line should have been present a lot earlier on. The package insert said this brand of test has the potential to pick up a pregnancy at 8 days after conception, so this may be a miss? I would greatly appreciate your professional and experienced thought on the matter.
Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my e-mail.
AnswerIt is possible the brown discharge is from implantation. It's good that you aren't feeling cramps. I know it seems like a lifetime, but time will tell. I'd go get another test in a day or two if no period. Good luck! I hope this helps a little.
