QuestionHello, I am 30 years old with two kids ages 2 & 4. they were both born by c-section, i had an 6 1/2 hr labor with my son with a very slow process only dilated to 5cm. Developed preclamsia so the end result was a ceseran due to my hypertension. My daughter no labor at all a planned ceseran, a vbac wasn't even discussed. I feel i had no say so in my own birthing plan which left me helpless. I am now prepnant again with the possiblity of termination if i dont find support soon. I 've never experienced that either, i just want to have my baby and experience real birth. what its like to push out the baby. that has to be special and i have yet to experience it. what can my options be?
AnswerHi Rasheedah,
Congratulations on becoming pregnant, and I hope you will put all thoughts of "termination" out of your mind, since the child within you needs life and love - not rejection and destruction.
Even though you've had 2 c-sections, there is still the chance you might deliver naturally, by VBAC. First of all, find a doctor who is open to this option. Secondly, locate your medical records so that your doctor can see the type of incision previously done, and also see that your 2nd c-section was not for any type of maternal complication or fetal distress.
Going into labor naturally and delivering your child naturally is a challenging and yet very rewarding experience. I wish you all the best in pursuing this option!

Anne Marie
