Uterine Prolapse & Early Pregnancy: Spotting and Pain - Is It Dangerous?
QuestionHi,
I am about 6 wks pregnenet with my third child. The last delivery was Aug 2008 and it resulted in a uterine prolapse. I now have pink and browninsh spotting with very mild abdominal pain for the past 24 hours. Is the uterine prolapse causing this because I havent had it with the other two pregnencyuies. Just wanted to know if that is dangerous and should i go to the hospital or should i wait to see if it goes away. I currently have my first midwife appointment on week 10. Looking for any guidance.
thanks,
shazia
AnswerHi Shazia,
If you are still having spotting and cramping, give your midwife a call. There are several things that can cause spotting in the first trimester, and your midwife will be able to help you determine what is causing it.
As far as I know, the uterine prolapse would not be causing the spotting and bleeding.
I wish you the best with your pregnancy!
