Questionhi dr.
my question is for the past 2 weeks i have had a painful swollen node in my armpit. my dr sent me for a mamo and ultrasoud which came back ok. now i have the problem in the other arm pit as well both pits have painful nodes. not very big nodes but painful. they are right in the area of the muscle that connects the arm to the chest in that muscle at first i thought i hurt that muscle but now that its in both arms and i feal the small lumps im very scared i feal fine dont think i have any infection or anything but my dr cant see me for 3 weeks. any advice? very scared
AnswerThe fact that they are painful makes it much more probable that your problems there are caused by local infections/inflammations. To be sure I suggest that thin needle aspiration biopsies ar done to get samples from these nodes for microscopy. That should make it possible to either confirm or rule out any malignancy (I doubt that this is a malignancy, but I can not promise that it is not). Good luck!
