Missed Birth Control Pills: What To Do & When

Question
My third week of pills I missed 2 pills and took all 3 on the third day and continued the rest of the pack as normal. (there were only 2 pills left to take)  I am 3 days late for getting my period and am due to start a new pill pack in two days. There is no concern about me being pregnant. I'm just wondering if I will get my period this cycle? Should I continue my next pack of pills as per normal? Should I be taking extra precautions during intercourse and for how long?

Answer
Hello Trish,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical professional so I advise you to talk to your doctor about this question.

However, in my opinion, that was ok for you to take the rest of the pills but did you have any side effects from so strong a dose?
Also, what do you mean when you say that you have no concern about being pregnant?

I'm not for sure if you will get your period. I would think you would but then you did have a concentrated dose of hormones. As you probably know, the birth control pills are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. No birth control method is. I don't recommend birth control pills or any kind of hormonal birth control because of risks and side effects. Once again, this is just my opinion.

Would like to hear from you as to what happens. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line.
