Tri-Sprintec & Unprotected Sex: Safety & Backup Methods

I have just finished my first week of tri-sprintec 28 day pills, and i was wondering when it would be safe to have unprotected sex? I started my period on a sunday, but didnt get my pills until the next day, and then started them the first sunday. The pamphlet I recieved said to use a back up method for the first week of using these pills but I am slightly confused. Is this true? Or is there still a good chance that I will become pregnant?

It is never 100% safe to prevent pregnant using "protected" sex or "unprotected". Even if you took the first weeks pills, you can still get pregnant. I don't know the percentage of chance of pregnancy but just keep in the back of your mind , whenever you have sex, you run the risk of pregnancy.
