Understanding Pregnancy Prevention Methods: Birth Control & Condoms

I am almost 20 years old and thinking about having sex with my boyfriend. We both really want to but I pretty much have a phobia about getting pregnant. If I start taking birth control and he uses a spermicidal condom everytime we have sex, should I still worry? Have you heard of instances where the woman still got pregnant in this situation? Thanks!

Sorry about that! I was just agreeing with you about your phobia about getting pregnant. It is very possible to get pregnant and yes, I have had heard of women getting pregnant using birth control. No birth control method is 100% guaranteed to be safe. You only mentioned using birth control so are you talking about using the birth control "pill" and then he using the spermicidal condom also? In that case, the chances are slim but not impossible. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please check with your personal physician. I would not advise you to have sex until you are married. I know that sounds old-fashioned but there are just too many diseases and also chance of pregnancy.
