Vomiting and Diarrhea: Could This Be Pregnancy?

On Monday morning I woke up puking and had a little diarrhea. I felt like I had a fever and was coming down with the stomach flu but felt better later that afternoon and assumed I fought it off. Now on Wednesday morning I woke up vomiting and had diarrhea, but I also had a lot of ice cream last night.

I haven't had sex since August 11th, and I have always been good about taking my pill, and we didn't use condoms. What are the chances I am pregnant? I am not sure what to think at this point.

Dear Nicole,

It sounds like you have a stomach virus, because diarrhea is not a common pregnancy symptom.  When are you due for your next period?  A missed period is usually the first sign of pregnancy.

If your period is late, then you can take a home pregnancy test.  They are usually pretty accurate.
