Depo-Provera and Pregnancy: What to Know

On the depo but have just done a pregnancy test and it is positive.  What will happen to the pregnancy?  is it safe?

Answer
It's hard to know for sure, but most likely the pregnancy will be normal.  Some studies have found an increase in low birth weight babies exposed to depo Provera in early pregnancy.  Most studies have found no increased incidence of birth defects or other health problems from depo Provera.
