QuestionDear Diana
I am currently on my second packet of birth control pills and I am taking Microgynon 20 ED. The pills in the first packet did not have any side effects and worked quite well with my body, I did not seem to become grumpy etc.
I went straight from the 1st packet to the 2nd packet and effectively skipped my period because I would get it on my birthday, new years etc. and my doctor said this would be fine, as long as I had a period once every 3 months. This worked out fine. But on the 7th day of the 2nd packet I got my period - not just spotting or a 'withdrawal bleed' but what appeared to be a normal period that I would get before I was on the pill. I still have it now 5 days later, when normally my period only lasts 3 or 4 days. If it is any use to you, I had sex roughly 3 days before I got my period.
I was just wondering why this has happened and if it is just because my body is settling into the pill. I also wanted to know if you think this is of concern.
Thank you so much.
AnswerElly,
I personally am concerned about trying to artificially skip your period and only have it every 3 months. I am not a doctor but am concerned about a doctor who would say this was ok. Just my opinion.
This could be a side effect of the pill. Also, it could be a side effect of rough sex, in my opinion. I would recommend going off the hormonal birth control pill and find some other method of birth control, if necessary. If possible, don't take any form of hormonal birth control.

That means that whoever you asked this question to was not able to answer and put it in the pool to let anyone answer it. I found it and hope this will help you in some way.
